ADHD Assessment & Treatment

For a lot of people an ADHD diagnosis is the moment a lifetime of confusion starts to make sense — why things felt harder than they should, why focus and organisation didn't come naturally and why they always felt a step behind everyone else.

If any of that sounds familiar we can help.

How it works

At Family Health Matters we offer a thorough structured ADHD Assessment and Treatment pathway led by our two specialist ADHD Nurse Practitioners, Michal Noonan and Jane Sutton. This isn't a tick-box process and it isn't surface level. This is where you get real answers and a real plan that actually works for your brain.

Our ADHD Assessment service is currently available for patients aged 18 and above and we are pleased to advise that assessment for patients aged 6 to 18 is coming soon.

Ready to get answers?

You have spent long enough wondering and second-guessing yourself and the answers you deserve are closer than you think. Book online here to get started.

No more guessing. No more self-doubt. Just clarity and a plan.

  • Step 1 - Screening and Initial Appointment$140.00 · 30 minutes · In person or by phone

This is your starting point and it begins with a real conversation.

Your initial appointment is 30 minutes and is conducted by Michal Noonan or Jane Sutton either in person at our Glen Innes clinic or by phone — whichever works best for you. This appointment is available to both enrolled and casual patients and you do not need to be an existing patient of ours to book.

During this appointment we will complete an initial ADHD screening questionnaire and take the time to talk through what has been going on for you. You will leave with early clinical insight into whether ADHD is likely and a clear understanding of what your next steps look like.

If you are a suitable candidate for ADHD diagnosis, you will then complete comprehensive online diagnostic assessments to complete in your own time and we will arrange your blood tests and baseline physical checks ready for the next stage.

  • Step 2 - Comprehensive ADHD Assessment $750.00 · 60 minutes · In person or via telehealth Plus $75.00 ECG if clinically required

This is where we go deeper and this is where you get your answer.

Once your Step 1 results have been reviewed and your clinician has confirmed you are suitable to proceed we will book your full 60-minute assessment appointment. In person assessments are currently held on Wednesdays between 1pm and 4pm at our Glen Innes clinic and telehealth appointments are also available.

This step includes a structured clinical interview with our specialist ADHD clinician, a multidisciplinary review by our clinical team, a full written report with your diagnosis if applicable and clear recommendations and all baseline physical and blood tests. An ECG will be arranged if clinically indicated at an additional cost of $75.00.

This step is not rushed and it is not a formality. It is thorough, structured and designed to give you the clearest possible picture of what is going on.

  • Step 3 - Treatment Planning $290.00

This is where things start to shift.

Once your assessment is complete you will have a dedicated treatment planning appointment to go through your results, understand your diagnosis and receive a personalised plan for what comes next. Your options will be clearly explained and may include medication if appropriate, therapy and counselling recommendations and practical lifestyle and functional medicine strategies to support your brain day to day.

If medication is the right fit for you our specialist Nurse Practitioner will safely initiate and manage your treatment with care and expertise every step of the way.

  • What Does It Cost?

The total cost of the full ADHD Assessment and Treatment pathway is $1,180.00 and this covers all three steps from your initial screening appointment through to your treatment planning session. All fees are payable upfront and Steps 2 and 3 are collected together at the time of booking your comprehensive assessment appointment.

We understand that investing in your health is a big step and that is why we are pleased to offer Afterpay as a payment option so you can spread the cost across manageable payments without any delay to getting started.

  • You Don't Need to Be Our Patient

This service is open to everyone aged 18 and above regardless of whether you are currently enrolled with us. Simply visit familyhealthmatters.nz and enrol online as a casual patient then request an ADHD appointment and we will take it from there. It really is that straightforward.
